Ming the Merciless Frame

This was a hard one! Ming the Merciless is quite possibly one of the most iconic and emblematic villains in pop culture history, making him justice was no easy task! He is the Emperor of Mongo, cruel and heartless he keeps all the kingdoms in that planet controlled and paying him tributes.

He finds a whole level in a rival when Flash Gordon and friends arrive to Mongo and they unite most kingdoms to fight him, managing to even get his own daughter (Princess Aura) against him.

Max Von Sydow's performance and representation in the 80's film is probably one of the best remembered things on the film, for a reboot, I decided to choose Alan Rickman for the part, and I think it was a good choice!

I remember reading somewhere that it was very difficult for Sydow to even move with the wardrobe he wore in the 80's movie, so I thought that this Ming would be more dynamic, which is why I gave him a lighter wardrobe (it would be epic a scene of him and Flash dueling after all!)

The beard and mustache were the most difficult parts, but I am generally satisfied with the end result.
